ELBRUS FROM NORTH SIDE - 5642 m, 12 days


Expedition Itinerary:

Day 1 Arrival to Mineralny Vody from Moscow. Transfer to Pyatigorsk spa-city. Accommodation in hotel “Intourist-Pyatigorsk”.
Day 2 After breakfast transfer to the Base Camp (via Kislovodsk city). Approximately 130 km by ground road by 4x4 off-road truck or jeeps (appr. 6 hours). The Base Camp is situated on Jilisu – glade Surkh. Build up the tent camp. Dinner. Overnight in tents (2400m).
Day 3 First acquaintance with the place. Trekking to the Emanuels’ stone. Then an acclimatizing and practice walk up the slopes of Mt. Soorh.
Day 4 Acclimatization trek till Camp 1 (“The North Prijut”, 3700m) (~4 hours). Taking some gear to Camp1. Return to the Base Camp.
Day 5 An ascent till the Camp 1. There the tent can be built up. (Or you can stay in mountain hut if there will be a free sleeping place).
Day 6 Acclimatization hike to the Lenz Rocks, 4700 m. Return to the Camp 1 (3700 m.)
Day 7 Day for preparation. Can be made an easy trekking around moraine.
Day 8 Summit day: early start at 3:00 a.m. Ascent on the western summit (5642 m.). Descend back to biwuak on the moraine. (3700 m.) (from 10 to 15 hours)
Day 9 Reserve day in case of bad weather.
Day 10 Descend from Camp 1 to Jilisu – glade Surkh Base Camp. Sleeping in tents.
Day 11 Transfer to Pyatigorsk. Accommodation in hotel “Intourist-Pyatigorsk”.
Day 12 Transfer to Mineralny Vody. Flight home.

It is included:

  • Visa support;
  • Transfer “Mineralny Vody – Pyatigorsk – Base Camp” and back;
  • DBL rooms in hotel “Intourist” in Pyatigorsk, BB (2 nights);
  • Russian mountain guide;
  • Place for the tent in Base Camp;

  • Luggage storage when the group is on the mountain;

  • SNGL accommodation in Pyatigorsk;
  • All personal climbing equipment gear;
  • Any expenses due to early arrival or late departure (out of dates fixed by program);
  • Accident and rescue insurance;

  • Excess baggage fees and departure taxes.
